So apparently, come May 15th, we're moving. Never mind that it's been just over six months since we lasted moved, from Florida to California. I'm used to that, moved twice last summer. We're not moving that far either, just within the same area.

We're moving to a one bedroom apartment. Me, my parents, and our two cats. One bedroom.

Because it's cheaper, and times are bad, and even though we're meeting each month's expense with no problem, my parents would like to save more. But thats not the big reason.

When all of this was explained to me, the reason that was given for doing this? I've decided I want to go away for college when I graduate.

I'm in the middle of my Junior year of high school now.

I need a proper hug icon.

From any particular fandom?

(And I think this does count as a hug icon for them)

Well, I shall try to look into things I actually know! I just need to get unlazy about it.

[*pets Sam* He fails at relationships like that]

I shall protect you from the evils of the parentals, oh yes I shall.

See Star, its very easy to avoid being a scarring/traumatizing parent.

Don't tell your waffle that everything is their fault.

Never ever. I promise.

Good. And I promise not to attempt to raise it as a social experiment.

......can you just do me the tiny favor of teaching them the association of letter/sound of the alphabet backwards?

Do I get a mini fridge?

I about choked on my turkey reading that, I laughed so hard.

Anything for you, love

WTell me it wouldn't be fun teaching your waffle to say 'z' when they meant 'a', or 'y' when they meant 'b'. And since the alphabet has an even number of letters, all of them would be switched.

Mimi fridges really are awesome though. I would never need to leave the room.

Croooow :( I know that's hard. I found out my tenth grade year that my college savings fund was used to start my dad's restaurant, which...failed pretty miserably. It's hard to think about, I think, because it's not like we've ever had say....$40k ever. It's hard to think about. And it's even harder to change your lifestyle to accommodate those expenses, so I would hug you so hard right now if I could. I'm just going to give you some things I've learned/wish I had done now that I'm done with my college stuff in hopes that it can help you:

2) Don't apply for schools that you don't think are going to accept you. It's just wasted money.
3) Do apply for schools with no admission fee, or a small one. Also do your research in the field(s) you want to go into, and look for small colleges that have good programs for your field. They will give you money. LIKE UAH HAHA.
4) Apply to UAH so you can come be my bff :|

But I'm really sorry for you, Crow, joking aside. I hope that things turn out well for you, because I know that it's a big deal and it sucks hardcore.
posted by [identity profile] at 03:12am on 08/04/2009 That had to have been horrible for you. We don't actually have a college fund. And the money that's going to be saved on rent? Going towards paying my dads 20k credit card debts/whatever props up from the house mortgage they simply stopped paying.

1) I will, in the middle of spending my summer taking P.E. and Math classes. I hate physical exercise and math~
2) I am definitely not going to be applying to Harvard any time soon.
3)PROBLEM. I am clueless as to what I want my field to be.
4) NASA won't like me :| See point 1.

Thank you, Chii. If I could? I would be hugging you right now too.

...given that I (a)live in a four bedroom house, (b)haven't moved since I was five, I really can't imagine that. But that does seem kind of unreasonable considering you've still got another year and a half to go. Especially if they're meeting expenses okay. At the very least you'd have thought they'd want the privacy of their own room.

You really do need to get a plane over here, and steal my spare room. You could come to college with me on Mondays and pet things. *snuggles*

*snugs* I do, really. I would enjoy living in our spare room and going to pet things every monday.
